v0.19: New Aesthete hero, able to make custom cards


New hero, Aesthete, brings ultimate freedom to the card-based gameplay, allowing player to construct cards during the run, completely breaking the game in new and exciting ways. This hero is extremely complex to play, surpassing Troubadour in both difficulty and potential power.

Both Plague Doctor and Jester received significant overhaul, making them more unique and differentiated from baseline Mage and Rogue.

UI now highlights cards in hand which are referred to by selected card, making hand and card manipulation easier to understand.

Major gameplay changes:

  • New 'Precious' effect, allowing to sell cards instead of removing them.
  • Statuses with 'decrement at end of turn' now 'decrement at end of turn if > 0'

Minor gameplay changes:

  • Made unlocking stash easier
  • Added 2 new achievements

Major UI changes:

  • Added indication for cards in hand targeted by selected card

Minor UI changes:

  • Added more keywords / hints
  • Effect conditions are now displayed in front of effects rather than behind
  • Tutorial is now auto-started on first display of rewards window
  • New 'cycle by' effect instead of 'cards played even/odd'
  • More terrain tiles
  • Added preview to 'draw cards' effect

New hero:

  • Aesthete, based around modifying and selling of cards
  • New achievement to unlock

Balance and miscellaneous changes:

  • Lowered prerequisites for some quests
  • Rebalanced Plague Doctor initial deck to lean more into poison
  • Rebalanced Jester initial deck: Evasive Stance replaced by Cruel Prank
  • Rebalanced cards: Kick

Selected bugfixes:

  • Fixed 'Force end turn' overriding 'Single use' on Sleeping Tonic
  • Fixed hang/crash when 'On damaged: Melee' trigger meets spikes
  • Fixed Troubadour trigger description
